FinOps Saturday – Setting up the Fixed Asset Module

This session is presented by Mary Thompson Microsoft Certified Dynamics 365 finance consultant. She has worked as both an end-user and a consultant across the AX platforms 2009, 2012 D365 FinOps.

Mary Thompson will be covering in this session an overview of what fixed assets are how they relate to finance and operations and how to set up the fixed assets module in D365 FinOps and basically a fixed asset is a long-term tangible piece of property or equipment that a firm owns and uses in its operations to generate income. Fixed assets are not expected to be consumed or converted into cash within a year. Fixed assets most commonly appear on the balance sheet as property, plant, and equipment (PP&E). They are also referred to as capital assets.

you will also be going through a couple of different components that go into the fixed asset modules such as depreciation profiles books the fixed asset posting profiles and of course the groups. She will also need to take a look at the journal names as those relate to setting that up and then the parameters and then get to the fun stuff which is the demo.
